Opening May 30, 2017
Coming together in cooperation to meet a community need – it’s the cooperative way. And it’s how Mercer County’s first licensed child care center got its start.
Eight businesses in the county recognized the child care struggle their employees faced. Lead by Basin Electric with assistance from the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, they took the initiative to create a solution to the problem: form a new entity to own and operate child care facilities in the county.
Energy Capital Cooperative Child Care exists to fill some of the gap in child care services in Mercer County. The first facility, the New Bethel Center, opened in May 2017.
